Brow Lift for Men
A brow lift, also referred to as a forehead lift or browplasty, helps to restore a youthful appearance to your face. This can help men who have a sagging forehead causing them to have a furrowed or angry expression and hooding of the lateral upper eye region. The hairline may also be modified with brow lifting techniques. With the brow lift, Dr. Wallach can help men feel more confident in themselves by diminishing those visible aging signs.
Why Do Men Seek Brow Lift Surgery?
One of the many reasons that men opt for a brow lift surgery is that they have always seemed to have an angry expression from furrowed brows, lax skin, and wrinkles. This procedure can raise the forehead and brows, raise drooping eyelids, reduce creases along the brow, and remove excess skin. Scars from the brow lift usually are hidden in inconspicuous places.
Brow Lift Surgery Procedure
For the browlift procedure, there is typically an incision made in the scalp within the hairline. Sometimes this varies depending on the type of lift done and the needed correction. Men can get three different kinds of brow lift procedures with Dr. Wallach. Drooping eyelids, lax skin, and excess skin on the forehead can be remedied with these methods.
Open Brow Lift
The open brow lift, also called coronal or classic brow lift, helps to get rid of excess skin on the forehead that caused advanced drooping of the brow. An incision is made within or along the hairline. Through this excess skin will be removed, and the remaining skin will be repositioned. This can be done with local anesthesia and intravenous sedation or with general anesthesia.
Endoscopic Brow Lift
If you have mild to moderate issues of brow descent and/or wrinkles, then this procedure can be beneficial for you. It uses several tiny incisions along the scalp where an endoscope can be inserted. Release of the tissues can be performed internally and then the scalp is elevated and fixed internally to maintain the new position.
Limited Incision Brow Lift
This procedure is a modification of an open technique. It helps to reduce wrinkles around the corners of the eyes as well as the frown lines between the eyes. This scars from this procedure are hidden in the temporal hairline and/or in an upper eyelid incision.
Recovery from Brow Lift for Men
A brow lift is done on an outpatient basis. You should have someone drive you home that day. You may want to use cold compresses around the eyes and on the forehead for the first 48 hours to help reduce the swelling. You will be able to return to sedentary work within a week of the surgery. Exercising should be avoided for about three weeks to a month following your brow lift procedure. During the consultation with Dr. Wallach, he will listen to your needs and concerns to suggest the best form of brow lift for you.
